A Memorial To Bogey,
02/27/2015 - 10/20/2018
This post is dedicated to Bogey, previously known to me as “Red ribbon boy”, who died late last week to an unforeseen medical issue. He was the first born pup from Brizz’s last litter, in the late winter/spring of 2015. Bogey would have been 4 years old this coming February. He joins one of his other brothers from the same litter, who proceeded him in death, Remington “green ribbon boy” over the rainbow bridge to doggy heaven. He is outlived by 8 other littermates (who are alive to my knowledge).
Bogey was a sweet boy as I knew him, for the very short time I was able to know him. He was the biggest in the litter, and sure knew how to throw around his weight, but was usually very kind. He was a lot like his dad, well mannered, gentle, peaceful, but a goofball that had the tiniest bit of a trouble maker in him.
Bogey’s owner graciously offered me photos of –some- of his great life, and a statement about how much he was loved
“Bogey was such a loving, affectionate, tender dog. He was so very sweet and loyal. He went everywhere with my husband....elk hunting camp with the boys, just the two of them deer hunting in the Rubicon Jeep (shotgun seat for Bogey), to the mountain cabin to complete yard work/repairs, etc. Tim is having a very difficult time not having his side kick. Friends and colleagues sometimes gave him a hard time about being a mountain man/oil field worker with a white standard poodle, but he didn't care. They were the best of buds. Tim must have told me a hundred times, "Best present ever!" We often joked that Bogey was our 70 pound lap dog. I would tease Tim that he and Bogey made out far more than he and I did. Bogey slept wherever he chose to around the house, sometimes on his dad's lap, my lap, beside me on the couch, at the end of the couch, or in the bed with us. He could be a total bed hog at times, but I never minded! Bogey also spent time with both sets of grandparents. My mom, who has never been a dog lover, just adored him, she was the one that began the habit of him being allowed on furniture! Bogey also had a special elderly friend who would watch him from time to time when we went on golfing vacations. He made her so happy, she'd throw the tennis ball for him until she couldn't pick up her arm!”
Bogey was well loved, and will be well missed by his owners. I only knew him for the first few months of his life, but there will definitely be a wound on my heart as well.
His life was short lived, but it was full of great times and a great family.
Let’s all take a moment to say good bye to one of our own, and give our thoughts to his owners who are having a hard time with his passing.
Thank you, everyone, for reading,
